About Me

I am a doctor, trained in all aspects of the body and how it functions, yet I still struggled with my weight. For years I tried every shake program, fad diet, gyms, trainers, you name it. I’d achieve some results just to end up back where I started. This was frustrating and to be honest, exhausting! I did desire to be healthy, create healthy habits for my family and have peace in my life. I was also struggling with the demands of being a working mom, wife and living up to my own expectations. Professionally I had started listening to a podcast by another doctor who had become a life coach. I had heard of life coaching but did not really understand what it was all about. The coaching spoke to me as a physician and a struggling human. It sparked a passion inside of me and I knew I needed to become certified and utilize coaching as another tool to help my medical patients. I had no idea how much it would transform my personal life. I discovered that the key to reaching my goals, weight or otherwise, came down to managing my mind. I thought why doesn’t anyone teach this?! What if there was a place where a person could access all the education, tools and support for their weight goals in one place versus searching online, joining multiple programs and getting sucked into the vortex of overwhelm… I realized, if I am searching for this so are other people. Why not create what you know others are looking for?! Weight Loss for Busy Moms is a program that encompasses all you need to manage your mind, food and movement to reach your goals, elevate your relationships and achieve the peace and joy in life that you have been looking for!

How much does coaching cost?
Coaching prices will vary. Apply to work with Dr. Whatley and schedule a discovery call. You can discuss your goals and decide together if working together is a good fit. Pricing and plans will be discussed at your discovery call.
Difference Between a Life Coach and a Therapist
Although there may be some overlap in the benefits of working with a life coach and participating in psychotherapy with a licensed therapist, these professionals have distinct roles and serve unique purposes. Unlike life coaches, therapists and other mental health professionals focus on healing, treating mental health conditions, and helping people work through trauma and other issues from their past. While working with a life coach may help you to deal with certain unresolved issues, life coaches cannot treat mood disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction, or any other mental health condition. Dr. Whatley is trained to diagnose and treat mental health disorders but will only treat you if you are also a DPC member and have a contractual agreement. If appropriate Dr. Whatley will keep medical and coaching separate and refer you to other specialists as needed.

By helping you to make the most of your strengths, life coaches provide the support you need to achieve long-lasting change.
