As the shortage of physicians in the U.S. continues to become a problem, especially in primary care fields such as internal medicine, mental health and pediatrics, direct primary care is emerging as a viable alternative to traditional health care models. Changes in population and demographic trends, as well as physician burnout, are leaving patients feeling lost, but direct primary care could change all of that.
